NOT DEAD BUT NOT BY MUCH…  (LOST A LEG AND FOUND MY PASSWORD)

NOT DEAD BUT NOT BY MUCH…  (LOST A LEG AND FOUND MY PASSWORD)

Ok, so y’all know 2020 sucked major ass for a lot of us;  well…2021 has sucked major ass, too, for a lot of us (meaning, well, me at least).

Grab a bevvy and a kitty/puppy/iguana, kick back, and peruse the story of how I lost a leg and found my password.

So…2021 busted 2020 wide open and it’s gonna be a great year, right?

*pfft*

Silly me – I don’t *GET* great years.

As the months progressed, I kept feeling worse and worse but it was all so gradual that, between anxiety and depression, I never realized just how bad my health was failing.  Sure, I was in a lot of pain and “discomfort”, but then, I’ve always been in a lot of pain and “discomfort”, right, so nothing unusual there.  No red flags were noticed; life such as it was went on.

Then the pain started getting markedly worse, especially in my already-partially-amputated left foot.  Soon enough every single step caused excruciating pain like red-hot blades stabbing from the front of my foot all the way back.

It also hurt when I wasn’t walking on it.

Keep in mind that:

*I live in the U.S. where healthcare is but a dream if you’re an uninsured mortal…
*I suffered from both anxiety and depression…
*I know a lot about some aspects of medical care but by far not everything, and…
*I am diabetic…

The pain and “discomfort” wore on my nerves so badly that at one point I seriously considered just ending it all.

Instead, because I have cats and a dog, I called 911 (emergency services for my foreign friends) on my ass.  The pain, the “discomfort”, the anxiety and the depression really were that bad, but an angel kicked my ass, reminded me of shit, and made me reach for the phone.

I was admitted on Aug. 4th and wasn’t discharged until Aug. 25th.  I remember small bits and pieces but most of the first two weeks I was in hospital are a foggy blur.

Amongst other issues, I was diagnosed with Charcot foot and an atrocious UTI.  The X-ray of my foot (what was left of it, remember that about 1/3 of it had been amputated in 2017…) showed a tremendous degeneration of bone mass, and apparently I’m one of those people whose mental processes are severely affected by a UTI.  The foot had been “hurting a little” until it was suddenly unGodly painful; I had no idea about the UTI except for a little lower back pain but who doesn’t have that?

Anyway, things happened and a body part was removed and another body part was disinfected (no wonder that FLM fled the scene – she must have known what was gonna happen and the horrid little beastie never even told me!) and time passed like my left leg.

When I was released, I had nowhere to go, no insurance therefore no rehab facility, no continuing physical therapy, no place to stay, no family I could call upon, nothing.  Even if I had been able to get a ride home from the hospital, I didn’t have a wheelchair I could get to, and even if I had, my house isn’t compatible with wheelchairs and had no one to take care of me.

The reasons for my depression were real and realized.

The angel that guided my hand to my phone provided once again.  I’ve been online friends with a group for well over 15 years now (and I cannot believe it’s been that long but it has) and led a member of that group who lives about 2 hours away to pick me up at the hospital and let me recuperate at her house in another state.

She had to acquire a wheelchair and a bedside toilet for my newly single-legged self to use.  She provided transportation – 2 hours each way – for me to keep my appointments with the surgeon and then to keep appointments with “the leg guy” – the company recommended for the prosthetic leg.

Fake legs are strange animals.  Newly amputated limbs are strange animals.  These two animals do not speak the same language…I’m still on crutches.

Phantom pain is real, and it can hurt like a bitch.  It can also itch.  Right this moment my left toes are hurting.  They vacated the premises back in ’17.

Currently I still have swelling at the amputation site and on above (I’m a “below the knee” amputee in that I have 3-4″ of bone below the knee).  Doc cut the bone up to that point but was able to save a LOT of back calf muscle which he brought forward to cover the cut bone and sewed to the front of my remaining leg.  He was genuinely shocked at how well I did – infection-wise and I guess mentally and emotionally accepting of the new reality – after the surgery.

I don’t miss that portion of my leg.  By the end it not only was painful as all fuckout but wasn’t at all dependable.  The new leg isn’t exactly dependable but with experience and gradual “downsizing” replacements, it will be.  Eventually.  Probably.

But at least the fake motherfucker doesn’t hurt.

Anyway, while I was stuck in bed for 3 weeks (a terrible time I just don’t feel like revisiting right now), the only computational device I had was my Kindle Fire.  Thank God I had it.  Problem was, I couldn’t remember hardly any passwords ESPECIALLY to…here.

I received a review today and that reminded me just how much I like you beautiful, glorious saints, sinners, angels, and demons.  So I got bright, checked to see if I had the password saved on my browser – annnnd yup, I do!

Voila!  Here I be!

I am still depressed but I’m handling it in a much more responsible way.  I am drinking figurative gallons of fluids a day and monitoring for color and “discomfort”.  I’m getting around in my house very, very slowly and I can’t do much of anything when I’m “up” except crutch along…slowly, but I’m doing it.  I’m focusing on taking my insulin shots when and as I’m supposed to.  And I’m freaking the fuck out about hospital bills, vet boarding bills for 2 cats and a dog for Aug, Sept, and over half of Oct, and the cost of this fake leg (they are VASTLY more expensive than you would EVER think).  It’s all painfully, extortionately, ludicrously expensive.

But I’m alive, for whatever that ends up being worth.

Thank you for listening, for caring, for wondering where the everlovin’ fuck I am, and for reading.  You guys are a bright light in darkened days, the memory of better times, and the hope that they’ll return someday.

 TL;DR = LOST A LEG AND FOUND MY PASSWORD…

If you can and if you want, I do have a PayPal donation site thingie, and ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is very much appreciated.

PAYPAL FUNDRAISER

Ok, you can go pee now and maybe think about letting the doggie out and giving the kitty cats some treats.  Cats love treats.  Wait, so do I…am I a kitty now? Don’t forget the iguana.

Love, peace, and paper towels,

HE’S GONE.

Yeah, that.

Last night at 2 minutes to 2am, his spirit left the body, the shell, he’d used while doing time on planet Earth.

Things are going in “frantic slow-motion” over here now, and it’s fucking hard.  I wanted to keep y’all updated in case you were wondering but…chaos…so I went with another regular post.

The link to the “backstory” is here (aka: the post before this one):

On Life and the Vile Beauty of False Hope in the Time of Crisis

Thank you for your kind wishes, thoughts, prayers, words of wisdom, offers to talk, and donations.  Every bit of it is appreciated. (And the donations came in especially handy for gas, the “stuff” weird emergency situations require, and food en route to/from for me, so a definite thank-you for that.)

Now I get to muddle through planning my dad’s funeral and burial.

This sucks.  I don’t want to bury my dad; I just want him to come home.

Rest in peace, daddy, and give’em all a rought time – especially my mom (your wife) and my favorite aunt (your sister) for leaving so damn soon.

I miss you, daddy.

A DIFFERENT MUSE NIPPED MY ARSE – (skip if you want, not an update)

I don’t write poetry so I wrote a poetry.  Go figure.  I blame that damn strange meandering-through muselette (not my MIA FLM who is still vacay’ing w/o me) for this wordage.  I may revise it, may not, who knows.  I don’t read this type of writing (poetry/poems) so I have no idea if it’s any good (any experience I ever had were haikus and rhyming crap, lol).  Enjoy?

What I Want

I want us, all of us, to be free
To be given the foundation, the grounding, of love and care
So that we may be free, boundless,
To fly and soar and dream far above the earth
To fly without fear of losing ourself,
To fly without fear of losing our way and our source and our time
To fly without fear of never finding home again
Yet free to find where our home should be
Free to find home and free to be home
Free to then fly solely for the joy of flight

This General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) thing?

I’ve copied/pasted (with link! b/c I’m cool like that) some info about whatever this GDPR thing is below my meanderings here.  While the whole thing is a bit confusing to me (the concept I get; what I’m supposed to do about it on a free 2-bit WP account, not so much), I can tell y’all that since I don’t sell/advertise anything and since this is a free, generic WordPress account, I don’t actually have access to crap like “where you live” (Idgaf, just hope you’re warm/cool, dry, and safe) and “how many times a day you go pee” (that would be creepy as fuck, also, Idgaf just so long as your kidneys are all ok and shit), so…?

I do know it’s easy (or at least SHOULD be easy) to unfollow/unsubscribe to my blog (and if you do go all bye-bye, I’ll wave and hope y’all come back soon, just bring coffee when/if ya do), so, um, unsubscribe if you want?  I don’t keep what information you guys *have* volunteered like email address so that my oh-so-frequent post notifications flood your addy  (what would I do with it, ghost-blog your ass?), so…um… <insert something witty here>…

Anyway, here’s this from Clicky Link Thing that WordPress.com on Twitter linked to in their reply to questions about whether or not bloggers had to bother about this whole GDPR thing (and no, I did not read all this crap…I have a life to live, coffee to drink, and foes to piss off – read it if you want, though):

Automattic and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (aka GDPR) is a new and far-reaching privacy regulation that takes effect May 2018.

This FAQ provides information about the law and how we are implementing the GDPR’s important principles for Automattic’s products and services, including WordPress.com.

We are adding features to enhance user choice and bring more transparency to our practices around the collection, storage, and use of your data. We expect that Automattic products and services will be in compliance with GDPR requirements when the law goes into effect on May 25, 2018.

We’re also providing additional tools and information to help users of our services take the steps needed to comply with the law, if necessary.

Below you will find a list of common questions we have gotten about GDPR and our answers to those questions.

General Questions

>> What is the GDPR?

The GDPR, among other things, requires companies and site owners to be transparent about how they collect, use and share personal data. It also gives individuals more access and more choice when it comes to how their own personal data is collected, used, and shared.

You can read the full text of the law here. We also found these resources helpful in understanding the principles and specific requirements of the law:

>> When does the GDPR take effect?

The law goes into effect on May 25, 2018.

>> Who does the GDPR apply to?

The GDPR is a European law that grants personal data rights to individuals in the European Union. However, its requirements apply to all sites and online businesses who collect, store, and process personal data about individuals in the EU.

>> How can I get in touch with you with a GDPR related request?

You can contact us through any of the following channels:

Questions About Your Rights As A User of our Services

>> What rights does the GDPR give me?

The GDPR gives EU individuals rights to their personal data. There are some exceptions/exemptions to the rights granted by the GDPR, but in general it includes rights to:

  • request access to the data we store about you
  • request updates/changes to your personal data
  • request the deletion of your personal data
  • take your personal data to a new service
  • request we limit our collection and use of your personal data (e.g., opt out of being tracked by our first party analytics tool)

Although GDPR is a law that only applies within the European Union, we are offering tools to manage your personal data to all of our users.

Additionally, you can expect that we as a company will work to protect the privacy of your personal data, will only collect the data when we have a reason to do so, and will delete your personal data once we no longer have a need for it.

>> How do I request access to my personal data? How do I request changes to it?

If you’d like to know what personal data we have stored about you, please contact us with your request. If upon reviewing that data you need to request changes to it, please let us know and we will work with you to make the necessary corrections.

>> How do I take my data to a new service?

Your site is yours and your content belongs to you. We hope you find our services and products useful, but if you are currently hosted with us and have decided to move elsewhere, we provide you with the tools you need to easily move your site without any extra charges from us. If your site is self-hosted, you can work with your hosting company to move your site.

>> How do I delete my personal data?

Although we’d be very sad to see you go, starting on May 25, 2018, you’ll be able to close your WordPress.com account. Please check this page then for more information.

>> How do I opt out of being tracked when I use Automattic’s services?

We’ll offer an opt-out from our first party analytics tool for WordPress.com users. We are still working to finalize this process for our products. We will update the information here, and in our documentation, with more details about how these processes work once they are ready.

>> How else are you protecting my privacy and my personal data?

User privacy is critically important to us at Automattic. Our privacy principles align with many of the GDPR principles, and we built our products and services with those principles in mind.

  • Control of Your Content. We aim to give you as much control as possible over who can see your content. For example, the WordPress.com Privacy Settings give you choices to make your site public, private, or hidden from search engines, and Page Visibility gives you options about who can see specific pages on your site.
  • Strict Guidelines on Providing User Information to Governments. We understand that safeguarding our users’ private information is a vital aspect of the trust our users place in our services to keep them safe, and in some cases, anonymous. Our Legal Guidelines describe when we will disclose user information in response to requests from law enforcement or from complainants in civil litigation. (And we have a reputation for challenging overbroad requestsーfor example, we successfully argued to lift non-disclosure orders on National Security Letters from the U.S. government that prohibited us from revealing information about those requests to our users).
  • Your Security is Our Priority. While no online service can ever be 100% secure, we work very hard to protect your information from unauthorized access. We support and promote encryption of user data and we encrypt all traffic (serve over SSL) for all WordPress.com sites, by default. You can read more about our WordPress.com security features and Jetpack Security Features. We also offer and *highly encourage* you to use our advanced security settings, like Two Step Authentication for your WordPress.com account, to help protect your account and your data.

Questions About Your Responsibilities as a Site Owner

>> What Tools Do You Offer to Help Me Comply with GDPR?

We provide tools to help you manage your user’s data, and to respond to requests from your users, for example, the ability to delete comments on WordPress.com, or to delete order records from WooCommerce. There are also other tools described in the question below. In general we try to make it possible for you to manage your site without needing our help, but if you get a request from one of your site’s users that you don’t have the ability to fulfill, you can contact us to request our help.

We also put together a Privacy Notice and other support documentation to describe the personal data that we collect on your behalf about your site’s users. That notice can be found online at https://automattic.com/privacy-notice. We hope that information helps you in drafting your own privacy policy for your site. Speaking of a Privacy Policy….ours is available under a Creative Commons Sharealike license. You’re more than welcome to copy it, adapt it, and repurpose it for your own use. Just make sure to revise the language so that your policy reflects your actual practices.

>> What data do you collect about the people who visit/use my site?

We aim to collect the minimal amount of data necessary to provide your site visitors with our service. Please see our Data Collection section below for more information about what we collect and when.

>> My site saves people’s personal data when they follow/subscribe to it or purchase a product on my site, and when they like or comment on a post or product; how do I manage this data to comply with GDPR?

Your site saves information about a person who follows or comments on your site in order to provide this service to them and email them updates about their sites

If a visitor to your site requests access to the personal data you have saved about them, we can help you to gather the data we have saved via our service. You can contact us to request that data.

If a visitor to your site requests you delete their data from your site, you have the tools at your disposal to do this. For information on how to manage/delete comments on your site, please see https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-comments/. Additionally, subscribers to a blog are able to unfollow it at any time and the link for that is included in the footer of the follow emails.

If your site is not hosted by WordPress.com, but on a different server (self-hosted), you can use the tools provided by WordPress 4.9.6 and WooCommerce 3.4 to export and manage your users’ data.

>> Some of the Jetpack modules, like Jetpack Comments, collect the personal data of visitors to my site. Do you provide any tools to help me manage the privacy of this data?

We do! In our new Jetpack Privacy Center you can find information about the data we collect and use on a module by module basis. We published this to help you disclose in your site’s Privacy Policy an accurate list of what data your site collects about them to your site’s visitors.

Additionally, because many of the Jetpack modules are the exact same features we offer on WordPress.com hosted sites, WordPress.com site owners can also use the Jetpack Privacy Center to inform their own privacy policies.

>> Can you tell me more about Google fonts on my site?

The Google fonts API collects a very limited set of information and uses it only for serving the font to your site. You can read more about the data Google collects, stores, and uses in connection with Google fonts here: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq.

>> What is a Data Processing Agreement (or amendment) and do I need one?

DPAs are contractual tools for web sites and companies to make commitments to their customers, vendors, and partners that their data handling complies with the law. It is not relevant or needed for the typical free site owner or hobbyists.

We are able to provide data processing amendments to users of our paid plans/products on WordPress.com, Jetpack, WooCommerce.com, Akismet, or PollDaddy. If your site has an active upgrade on one of these services, please contact us to let us know what you need.

Having a DPA does not change any of our practices regarding your site or your visitors. Everyone using our service gets the same high standards of privacy and security.

Data Collection Questions

>> What data do your various services collect about me?

We have always tried to collect the minimal amount of data that’s necessary.

For example, when you sign up for WordPress.com, we ask only for limited information needed to set up your WordPress.com account. We require an email address and a username, nothing more. If you purchase a paid plan, we’ll need additional information to process your payment. You are welcome to add other information to your public profile and account settings, but we don’t require you to give us any other personal information to get your account up and running. The same principle applies to all our products and services.

For a more detailed description of the data we collect, please refer to our respective policy pages at https://automattic.com/privacy/, https://jetpack.com/support/privacy/, and https://docs.woocommerce.com/documentation/get-help/woocommerce-com/privacy/.

>> Does Automattic sell or give away my personal data?

We do not sell your private personal information.

We will share information about you in limited circumstances, and with appropriate safeguards on your privacy. You can read more details of when we share your information, and what we share, in our privacy policy.

>> What information do you collect if I use your WooCommerce plugin without connecting it to a WordPress.com or WooCommerce.com account?

If you do not connect an Automattic plugin to a WordPress.com or WooCommerce.com account, we do not receive or store any of your personal data, nor do we have access to the data about your site’s users/customers. The exception to this is if you enable WooCommerce Usage Tracking.

>> What data do your services collect about the people who visit/use my WordPress.com or Jetpack enabled site?

As with the data we collect about you, we try to collect the minimal information required to make our services available to the people who use your site. We have created a new privacy notice to detail exactly what that information is and how we use it, which is available to you and to your site visitors at https://automattic.com/privacy-notice.

>> What information does woocommerce.com collect, store and share when someone has a woocommerce.com connected account?

When you make a purchase on WooCommerce.com and connect your account, we will know what sites you are using the subscription on, but generally do not get additional usage/personal data about you or your customers. There’s a few exceptions:

>> How long do you keep logs?

Our system logs, which record information about visitors to Automattic’s websites, are kept for 30 days after which they are deleted.

>> Where are your servers located?

Automattic’s servers are all over the world. This allows us to provide the fastest service to our users, and to the visitors viewing our users’ sites, no matter where they live. It also allows us to keep our service, and your site, running should one or more of our servers go down.

Although we have servers all over the world, at present all personal and site data is stored exclusively on US based servers.

There, I made it all pink for an enhanced visual presentation.  Or something.

Have fun, y’all, and if you find the FLM skulking about, please send that sweet little shit back this way, m’kay?

*Happy Thanksgiving/Turkey Day/Thursday! *not a chapter

*although updates will be mysteriously appearing sooner than later along with the ubiquitous gripe/complain section*

Whether you’re celebrating? observing? American Thanksgiving, Turkey Day, or just-plain-Thursday, I hope you’re surrounded by beloved family, friends, and pets, that all those dearest to you are hale, whole, and hearty, that you genuinely do have much to be thankful for, and that you have a fire in your heart and antacids for the one in your belleh from eating way too much.

Maybe that last bit’s just me…

Hearts and stuffin’,

**PS:  And you gotta know that Eric’s wee li’l spider is all full, fat ‘n happy in the corner of Gran’s kitchen where she’s turned out the most amazing Thanksgiving dinner ever complete with *two* different pumpkin and *two* different pecan pies (she’s in an experimenting mood, you know), and this year she even made her company-quality cherry-almond torte ‘special for Lala (an’ Jason don’t-mind-if-he-do…he’s good like that).  She invited him to join her an’ Jason because she didn’t want him to be alone, and she’s missin’ Sookie somethin’ awful.  It’s sad that she’s surprised by just how much she’s missin’ that girl and hopes she can see her soon.   Jason, well, he’s always been a bit smarter than he wanted people to figure out so he’s watchin’ the proceedin’s with an “it’s about time” gleam in his pretty, pretty eyes…but that ain’t stoppin’ his elbow from bendin’, though…not much would, come to think…  Lala’s noticing and thinking the same things just with more cussin’ involved, and while he’s appreciative of the invite – Gran’s a fantastic cook, after all, and cooks do get right tired of cookin’ their own eats after a while – he’s glad that Gran somehow managed to figure a few things out about life before it’s too late.  Now, about that cherry-almond torte…

Just a THANK YOU!/update/other words

Here – catch:  a heart-felt (and probably painfully loud so you might wanna step back a bit…a little more…a little…ok, that should be about right) THANK YOU!!! to everyone who has donated to the GoFundMe!!!!

You are the very BEST readers and I absolutely appreciate every single one of you anyway, but your response to the GFM has truly blown me away.  Your support really does mean the world to me.

(I didn’t set the account up so I don’t know how GFM works so I don’t know how to individually thank the fantastic people who donated but I did want to thank you guys somehow!)

A better THANK YOU!!??

Eeeennyway…

The campaign has not ended.  I still have to go for daily super-strong antibiotic IVs (“infusions” or if you wanna be all medical, “infusion therapy”), bi- and sometimes tri-weekly doctor (usually nurse) appointments, and I have at least one (probably two but I’m hoping the dr forgets) more surgeries in my future.  (Oh, the joy.)  Bluntly, I’m doing a LOT better health-wise but I ain’t out of the woods yet – it was just *that* bad, previously.

Here’s the handy-dandy link in case someone’s won the lottery:

https://www.gofundme.com/paying-it-forwardhelping-karen

Fic-wise, I *have* been thinking about my stories, especially The Moon and One Night.  Thinking…but not writing yet.   You’d think having to remain off my foot (and in/on bed/chair/wheelchair as I’m STILL not allowed to put ANY pressure on my foot AT ALL) for 23.5 hours a fucking day would be conducive to writing, however…it is not.  I’m still too damn frustrated over all this mess *to* concentrate effectively on all the ins and outs of my fics.

(Why did I have to go and make them so dang complicated?  Granted they’re not nearly as complex as many of our other writers’ plots are, but still…*grumph*)

I did want you to know that I have not forgotten my fics, and I haven’t forgotten you guys, either.  This health mess is just taking for-freakin’-ever to resolve.  But it’s getting there.

Eventually.

Thank you again, and I really appreciate your patience, your kind support, and of course if, your hard-earned cash.   (You knew I was blunt, right?  I mean, rly, you knew this already, right? *innocent face*)

*snicker*

Pondering Our TB/SVM Fandom ♥

Since True Blood ended/died in a bloody massacre, there have been thoughts, fears, and vague mutterings that our beloved fandom is dying (quickly, slowly, or otherwise).

I don’t see it that way.

To me, let’s just say that our fandom has become more… streamlined.  We started out as “a group of everyone” including the rabid, the flighty, the vaguely interested, the temporary, and the totally dedicated…and everyone in between.  Now, thanks to life and its sometimes-great, sometimes-cruel hand, we’ve evolved – we’re now distilled into a harder, stronger core group of readers, writers, and “both”.  At least, I like to think so.

There are TB/SVM readers left and there are TB/SVM writers left, and the floor is always open to new readers and writers wanting to explore all-things-Eric-Sookie-Godric/etc.  Some readers only have a few minutes or hours a week to read, and some writers may only have a few stories to tell while others have many, but all are still welcome in our rather resilient fandom.

As for me, I’m not stopping, not yet.  I have stories to finish, and there are still some plots buzzing around in my woozy head that may demand to be told.  Thanks to a nasty medical emergency it might be a while until I can get things calmed down enough to actually write the words down on virtual paper, but they’re still in there somewhere.

Sadly, some of our writers didn’t want to leave yet life took them from us too soon and we’ll forever mourn their loss.  For hopefully better and never worse, quite a few of our writers have been swallowed up by their daily lives and left the fandom for innumerable reasons, and while we hope they’ll find their way back to us someday, we wish them well.

And then…there are the writers who have sharpened their teeth in our world and  gathered their courage to move on to other projects – our lovely Gyllene (click over and give her some love!) is the latest to venture forth on her own fantastic journey.

I want to wish her well on her future publishing venture and remind her that the door to our TB/SVM fandom is always open.  Her fanfiction talent will be sorely missed (and maybe she’ll bring coffee if/when she does return!) but I do hope to read her published works far sooner than later.  With her, I don’t sense that this is “goodbye”; it feels more like a “see ya soon…hey wait, Eric did what?!?”

Again, our fandom isn’t <insert negative or melancholy thought here> – we’re simply streamlining – distilling down to our core, dedicated group of lovely readers, writers, and “both”.  And that proverbial door is always open!

More later,

~Mer

Generic Update of ON Updatedness *wee teaser*

…or something.  This is just me letting you guys know that I’m only a day or three away from the next ON part (depending on that interferin’ RL thing).

Do y’all give a shit about word counts?  If you do, right now it’s at 6,708 (and growing) according to Word (WP counts differently for whatever reason).  If you don’t, unread that last sentence; I’ll wait.

Anyway, here’s an un-final-FINAL-drafted wee teaser for ON, 4th N, Pt. 4…aka: One Night, The Fourth Night, Part 4 iffin you wanna be all official an’ shit…  You know the drill:  the following is subject to minor/possibly major/whatever changes before posting.  (Bits and pieces of this Part keep magically disappearing – might wanna keep this for posterity cause technology keeps fucking with me…)

So whaddya want?

Ok ladies and gennelmen, I’m almost somewhat sort of ready to climb back in the saddle/hit the road running (limping)/pick up where I left off/other euphemisms for “slowly starting to write fanfic again”.

So, which story do you want me to turn my writerly eye toward first (no guarantees but I’d love to hear what you guys want)?  Un/fortunately there are several to choose from.  Heh, good excuse for (you guessed it) a poll, right?  You know my thing for lovely delicious little polls.

IT’S POLL TIME!!!

Didja vote?  While I won’t make any promises (I tend not to unless I’m 100% positive I can keep the damn thing), I really would like to know which story/stories you’d most like to have updated first.  Encouraging words are being accepted, too.   I’m still sore from being kicked by life.

Anyway, hope to hear from you soon.  Oh, yeah, and I yet live.  And stuff.

~Mer

One Night, Part Whatever, is up + OMGODRIC, YOU GUYS – THANK YOU!!!!!

Keep in mind that you guys are not allowed to yell at me because I’ll cry and get all red-eyed and snotty (srsly, I have a terrible cry-face), ok?  (ThisparticularNightwillhaveaPart5.)
(IfItellyoulikethisitsoftenstheblow,right?)

Pack a lunch.  And dinner.  And some snacks.  Oh, and you guys may wanna take notes as you go – this bad boy is…you guessed it…hella long.  You’ll see why I stopped it when I did.  It’s also why it took for fucking ever to get it out to you, too. (FLM told me to say that.)

So…you lovely readers who like long reads will be in Heaven.  You lovely readers who don’t…can take several breaks – just remember where you left off…  This Part happens within a relatively short time and contains funny-ha has, seriousness, a gasp or two, mountains, correct pronunciations, a Pam, a cat, a ‘vette, and maybe a couple of cherries (Eric refused to verify).  Proceed with vigor!  😉

One Night

Now:

gold heart THANK YOU Godric and Eric thank you2 Thank you2

OMGODRIC, YOU GUYS – THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

When the fantastic Missingjasamalways commented to tell me to check out the YWB winners…I did…AND THEN I SCARED MY DOG SQUEEEING!  (Yes, “squeeeing” is too a word.)

Thanks to you fanfuckingtastic readers AND VOTERS!!!, I won 8 Awards!

That’s eight.  E.I.G.H.T.  7 + 1.  ***—>  8  <—***  ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

That is 8 (EIGHT!!!) more than I’d had a hope to win, y’all, and it’s all because of YOU.  Did you see how fierce the ‘competition’ was?  (And by “competition” I mean that we’re not actually competing against each other – we may not all be best buddies but we’re hella more likely to support each other than not because there’s no NEED for any competitive feelings in our luscious fandom.)  There were so many amazing writers and amazing stories and you guys voted for me!
THANK YOU!!!

Can I brag now??  *pfft*  Given ALL the AMAZING talent represented in these awards, hell yeah Imma brag:

First and foremost considering the new Part linked above, here is the one for One Night:  PINS AND NEEDLES, Y’ALL – PINS! AND! NEEDLES!!!  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

Hit Me With Your Best Shot Award – Best One Shot

The Hybrid Award – Best Crossover

Rollercoaster Award – Best Angst / Drama / Cliffhangers

The Saucy Award – Best Sookie  (Woot!!  Go Sookie!!  Yeah, I’m totally seal-clapping here…oops, sorry for any flashbacks…)

The Flying Monkey Award – Best Villain  (*mwahahaha*)

Who the Hell Are You Award – Best Original Award  (Yay for Sevrin!!!!  He totally just grunted a thank you…FLM will verify!)

And last but hella-certainly not least:

EricIzMine Award – Favorite Author  (Ok, this one made me tear up a little/lot – you have no idea how very much I appreciate this.)

Really, thank you so very much for all the love.  It means the world to me that you find time in your day to read my words and let me know what you think, but that you even take the time to cast your votes for me blows my socks off.   (You did know I’m naked under my socks, right?  NO BLUSHING…!) Now go read and enjoy, and know you’ve made me very happy!

YUP, THAT, & a short TEASER

It’s been bizzy over here in Meridian-ville, which among other things is also good for those of you who enjoy my scribblings.  So…in this ‘issue’ we not only have the YUP and the “don’t forget THAT I posted these things that WP may not have informed you of” bit, but…there’s also a TEASER for the next Part of One Night.  And I am totally evil-grinning over here, too, cause I know what happens in this chock-full Part…

Poll Bitnez, Not Chapter Yet (so ignore if you’re busy)

Man, you ladies (and gents? We have any gents in the house?) should be writers yourselves!  Your fantastic suggestions have been fun, interesting, and inspired – very creative and imaginative and I can totally see some brilliant backstories being thought up for so many of those names.  Really, people – go pick up a pencil or a keyboard and get to it!

GO DO WRITE-Y THINGS WITH THOSE AMAZING IMAGINATIONS, PEOPLE!!!

Now, I don’t know if the poll will close on its own or not – damn thing is smarter than I am – but as of (glances at watch) right now, poll-wise Seb’s in the lead with Richard trailing along in eventual second place.

But…I’m loving EVERY ONE of the suggestions in the comments!  I should have known better than to pull a poll because now I want to use ALL THE NAMES.

*grumph*  Dude may end up with the longest name in the history of fanfic naming conventions…Well, it IS Texas…and things are always bigger in Texas…

Oh, and here’s the deal about dear ol’ Stan Davis.  Many of y’all mentioned that he was the King of Texas (I ran out of time to reply to individual comments…sorry), and that’s kind of what I’d thought, too – and we were all right…sort of:

In SVM, Stan Davis was the vampire Sheriff of Dallas who does, eventually, become King of Texas much later in the book series (wiki says in book 7), but during this “time frame”, he’s not the king (yet) – still just a Sheriff (which is Godric’s job in the TB version that I’m mostly going with). It’s annoying that the ‘current’ king’s name wasn’t ever given (that I can find at least).

But in TB (where I’m basing the majority of this story), Stan’s just Godric’s mouthy, aggressive lieutenant and to my knowledge no name for the king of Texas was ever given there, either.

So…there’s that, hence this…

Anyway, as for the next installation, I’m already 4,200~ words into it and I’m not even at the half-way mark yet.  Lots of things happen in this Part and apparently these things require lots of parts of speech.  For comparison, the previous Part was around 8,981~ words, give or take.  Warning:  This installation is en route to becoming a monumental bastard with about 12 pee breaks, 2 dinners, and a vacation suggested.

I’m tempted to edit what I’ve written so far as a “”Part1a”” and post hell out of it tomorrow or something.

So that’s where I am.  And if you noticed that I didn’t mention which name/names/conglomeration of even more names I’ll be using, you’re right! *evil grin* You’ll just have to read on…and on…

Hearts and mosquitoes (cause I’m tired of dealing with the fuckers – I mean, really, “Fall” is supposedly scheduled to make its way here on Thursday and it’s still 88*F outside at *checks watch again* now ffs),

~Mer

Just a wee teaser from my desktop to your…

…whatever you read this on!

Yes, I yet live!  *gonna imagine lots of celebratory noise here*  Summer has been summering right along and taking beaucoups of my time along with it but now that GLORIOUS AUTUMN or FALL or PRE-HALLOWEEN or HALLOWEEN or PUMPKIN or PRETTY-LEAF SEASON (or whatever) is finally (thought to be ever-so-slowly, eventually, hopefully considering we’re still having highs in the 90*s) approaching, in theory I should have more time to write, maybe, hopefully.  (I gotta be all hedgey or the FLM will just laugh at me and flitter off like she loves to do.  She can be a little bitch that way.)

Regarding downloadable .pdfs:

Before I go through all the hassle (Anticipating has 41 chapters PLUS side stories…  Andre?  50…), I gotta ask:  would you fantastic readers-mine even BE interested in downloadable copies of my magnificent (or whatever) fics?

In the past, several truly thoughtful readers have asked if they could make .mobis or .pdfs, etc., to read at their leisure and I’ve always given the go-ahead but had never actually thought about making them.

Anyway, just to see how the process went and to see if I could post them for y’all here on WP (which does not allow me to post .mobi files, btw, but Online Convert can do that for ya for free after you download this version), and to test interest,  I decided to go ahead and post the .pdf to Blue Nail Polish.

In the menus, the page for these (potential) files is listed under PDFs (I know, so original, right?), but here’s the handy-dandy link for if you want to read my BNP words while you’re getting your oil changed and your tires rotated or while you’re waiting for the progeny to finish with practice or…

Let me know if it downloads the way it should.

One Night – The Second Night – Part 2 is up!!

This post is long, but first things first:

Okee dokee – here’s the link to One Night – The Second Night – Part 2.  It’s…it’s a doozy.  Approach this chapter with caution and coffee. And trail rations.  That bad boy is LONG and yes, I am ABSOLUTELY blaming Eric.  He’s big and broad…he can shoulder the blame…

AWARD SEASON IS UPON US – THIS IS NOT A CHAPTER (It’s just news you’ve probably already heard by now and stuff)

Ok, so as you’ve likely heard, the YWB Awards are  back on again and will cover from April 15, 2015, to August 1, 2016.

Am I supposed to make a list of my stories that would qualify for nomination?  Well, to hopefully make this a bit easier for y’all (and because I’m totally awesome like that),  I did.  Also, I’ve narrowed down the Categories that I might qualify for, too, if you kind folks might want to nominate a story or three or…you know.   The *full* list of Categories is available on the YWB site, of course.

As for dates, I went by the date of the first review on each story.  I can of course check my Dashboard for the specific date/time anything was posted or updated, but since that’s not publicly accessible and the dates of first reviews are…yup, exactly.   That’s the simplest way for my site.

Anyway, here:

Completed  Multichapters:

Blue Nail Polish (BNP)

The Revealing of Andre (Andre)

A Parody in Three Acts: A Night in the Life of Andre (yes, that Andre…sorta)

One Night

Sookie Takes Charge (STC)

One Shots:  (Shall We Dance missed it by *THIS* much!)

Sevrin (erm, ok, ok: “Aquaman”) gif – I blame 4Padfoot, also, Andre news

So, yeah, I dunno if 4Padfoot made it or found it, but she drew my attention to it and so now I draw yours to it, too…

And it’s a damn good thing that I just finished Andre like 10 minutes before cause my eyes are glued to the magnificence that is Jason Momoa as Aquaman – BUT HE’S REALLY MY SEVRIN…mostly…

Oh, yeah, The Revealing of Andre is FINISHED!!!!!  YES!!!  FINALLY!!!  I’ll give it the once-over and possibly be posting it tonight or tomorrow.  ANDRE IS FINISHED!!!  HE MIGHT EVEN LET ME CONTINUE WITH THIS WHOLE “LIVING” THING AN’ EVERYTHING!!!  (Yeah, he can be a little scary…)

*whew*  It’s only been going on for HOW LONG now?

S’hup.

Enjoy the Sevrin, erm, yeah whatever, gif below compliments in whichever way of 4Padfoot.  (She’s also safe to blame for any lunches left unfixed or dinners left uncooked or chores left undone or…or…or…)  😀

Oh hai Sevrin…unf………………………….

ANDRE IS FINISHED, Y’ALL!!!  ALLLLL FINISHED!!!

A WHERE-I-AM PLUS A SEISMIC THANK YOU

(I started to type this in all-caps so it would appear that I have more energy than I actually do but the constant need to correctly capitalize sentence starts and proper pronouns just made it look stupid so fuck that.  I’m tired.  There.  I mumbled it sorta out loud.)

First of all I want to thank my FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT, WONDERFUL, AMAZING, AND DID I MENTION FANTASTIC? readers for all your VERY much appreciated love and support of the new story!  Y’all have absolutely blown my (invisible, because it’s hot here) socks off with your comments and likes!  As you know I love replying to comments – it gives “us”, the reader and the writer, a great way to touch base with each other, plus you (the collective ‘you’) are such great fun to just chat with, too.  I love being able to do that.  Sadly, between lack of time and feeling like a bulldozed watermelon, replies to this last chapter of ON will have to wait.  Hence, this broad “thank you”.

Godric and Eric thank you2

Now, the five current WIPs all have bits and pieces in the process of being thrown together, and the epilogue/potential (PO-TENT-TSHEL) “future nights” for the (Awww, man, if I go with more nights I’ll have to change the name won’t I?  I dunno…not if I just do the odd night – the odd “one night”- here and there?  Fuck it, I’ll pull a Sookie and deal with it later) now-complete-but-maybe-not story is shimmering around in my oddly-vast brainbox.

Now for the “but”…cause there’s always an ass involved…

Thing is, I’m one of those people who are sometimes very negatively impacted by the inflammatory response caused by sugar.  Yup – plain ol’ sugar – brown, white, turbinado, cane, beet…you know:  sugar.  As I’m T2 diabetic I usually don’t eat very much of it at a time anyway, so my tolerance to it nosedives.  Then if I, say, give in to the ‘need’ to bake a, say, peach cobbler with, say, too much brown sugar (hey, it’s cool when it caramelizes on the top!) then, say, eat too damn much of the damn thing, I pay like fuck for it for the next couple days.

As you MIGHT can tell, it, shall we say, “negatively affects” my mood (any laughs that escape my cobbler-hole sound like a death warning), and Advil can only do so much to help negate the aches and pain response.

Dread may have a little bit to do with my desire to remain under my bed, too – my birthday is May 5 and GUESS WHAT:  I get to have a motherfucking ROOT CANAL on that day.  So yeah, the me of me is not a happy fucking camper.

Yay – the tooth will in theory stop fucking hurting.
Boo – it will involve a root canal. ..on my damn birthday.

Oh, and before anyone suggests that I ask the dentist for pain relievers to last from now till then, let me remind you that I live in the “”glorious”” Bible-Belt south where all medical personnel are far more afraid of “”enabling drug addicts”” than they give a damn about those of us in actual pain. Yhep, drug addicts are far more important than pain-ridden patients and doctors, dentists, and whoever the fuck else fearfully and with collapsed balls worship their beloved restrictions to an insane degree.  I vote we direct every ache and pain to those assbastards who would rather regulate against people in pain because they prefer to worship/”protect” damn drug addicts.  I have nothing either for or against drug addicts but damn, don’t make ME suffer because of their shit.

(I may be somewhat biased based on the amount of Advil I’m shoving down said cobbler-hole but GAWD FORBID doctors/dentists around here miss an opportunity to let someone hurt…)

Tolja I was in a shitty mood.  Hopefully after this next week is over I’ll feel more human/humane…nah, I’ll still be in a shitty mood…just might be able to better front it.  At least I never claimed to be all nicey-nice, though, right?

So, yeah, that’s where I currently am.  Have a better day.

NOTICE AND *EXCERPT* OF UPCOMING STORY

Ok, so a while back I thought about posting a “thank you” story when the 500th person followed my blog (great choice, yo!).  Now, WP divides follow count into two sections:  blog and email, but for the purpose of this nefarious scheme of mine I’m counting actual blog follows since the total follower count would have risen far too quickly for me to have coughed up a decent story (it was well into the 600s total when this notion struck).

To that end, I’m currently 11,855 words into what will be a single-post long one-shot.  (Yes, there will be intermissions.)  This monster, The Night Eric Northman’s Life Changed Forever, begins just after Eric arrives home from Fangtasia the night he first sees Sookie and will encompass only that night (it’s a busy night).  As with anything I write, it goes AU at the speed of fangs snicking down and may include wee tiny tidbits from SVM.  This is written entirely in Eric’s POV with lots of thoughts and some snark.  Hey, it’s Eric, ya know?

Yes, there’s even a cat.

A little while ago my 501st follow just signed on board the WP express, so here’s a nice excerpt.  I won’t be posting the entire work until it’s completed but I expect it to be finished soon.

Without further ado, and to thank all my delicious followers (WP and email alike – y’all all smell fantastic, btw), here’s a little teaser that will MOST likely remain unchanged when the story is actually posted, but no promises:

•~•0•~•

Once home from the bar, Eric Northman automatically headed straight to his shower. As financially pleasing as Fangtasia was, its accumulated stench was an entirely different story. Even when his “glaring from the throne” time was cut short, the reek of desperation mixed with too many chemicals still clung. Mechanically proceeding to soap up, scrub down, and rinse off, he let his thoughts wander through the night’s unusual events.

For the first time in…he couldn’t remember how long, the evening’s burdensome load of deadly, generic boredom had been shot all to hell.

Thank. Fuck. Even if it had included yet another raid for the crime of being vampire…

By this point he knew he would normally be fuming over the way money kept magically disappearing – for two cents he would suspect his accountant but the human had been glamoured to within an inch of his sanity so he highly doubted the man was capable of even stealing a pencil by now. That only left a scant handful of potential suspects and…his mental rant was interrupted by the memory of eyes that dared to directly meet and hold his own.

That was unusual in and of itself – that he thought of something different and that some young chit of a girl had dared to meet his gaze without flinching or fawning.

Vampires either feared him or were drawn to him, but either way they were innately wary of both his age and the power he naturally exuded. Same thing happened with Weres but with far less “lure” and far more “fear”, thanks be.

Humans were strange creatures. Most didn’t perhaps understand why they were both scared of and drawn to him, but they were and to an annoying degree.

Regardless, few dared to meet his gaze and actively hold it.

The girl didn’t seem to know much about vampires, though, which honestly should have made her even less likely to meet ones’ eyes since far too many of them knew about vampire glamour.

Damn publicity.

Among other things the way she’d held out her hand to Pam had proven a lack of intimate familiarity with his kind, but despite her nervous chatter she did seem to have a backbone when it came to those pictures.

Why was she going round shoving pictures of ugly women at vampires?   And why hadn’t fucking Compton filled her in on vampire etiquette, anyway? If she was supposedly “his” then that’s his fucking job. If you take on a human, you take on the job of educating them, damn it!

The fact she was on Compton’s arm said she was either stupid or naive, and Eric was pulling for the latter. Naive…he could work with naive.

As he toweled off, he caught himself almost grinning.

Compton actually thought he could keep such a tasty little drop of sunshine that intriguing all to himself? Moron must be more mentally decomposed than I’d originally thought.

What his disease of a Maker saw in him was the question of the ages.

But…what’s he doing in my territory anyway? Isn’t he supposed to be kissing someone’s ass in the darling queen’s court these nights? Something must be going on…he was trying too hard to be sly tonight…

For some reason that he didn’t bother searching for, he suddenly decided to shave off the scruffy beard he’d been sporting for a while. He glared at his hair as it fell into his eyes over and over again, but there wasn’t much he could do about it just then.

After donning his tracksuit bottoms and his silk robe, he padded into his office, grabbed one of his burner phones, and sent a text to his most dependable ear at the brat-queen’s court. If anyone could find out what was going on, it’d be Rasul.

He noticed a waiting text from Pam and checked it as he wandered into the den, then settled before his unlit fireplace. The option of having a warm flickering fire when he wanted it was nice but it wasn’t cool enough yet to warrant one – one of the many benefits of Shreveport, Louisiana.

***Bribed the bribeables and glam’d the humans, closed bar. Small fine, 2-night closure, blah blah blah. Taryn and her dinner weren’t caught but that bitch is going in a cage when I catch her. WTF was Blondie? Are there more where she came from? How did she know about the cops? I’m thirsty and I have her address – wanna split dinner?***

Eric felt something in his chest tighten at the thought of Pam biting the Stackhouse girl…

•~•0•~•

So…what’d you think:  Want more?   You know the drill – let me know what you think in the comments.  Have a great evening/night/morning, etc.!

I yet live (Hi – BNP teaser)

Just a note or two:

1-  HELLO TO MY NEW FOLLOWERS!!  Welcome aboard,  have a look around – you’ll find the strangest things hiding in the strangest places (cause I suck at site organization), and note the Ask Me feature for if you have questions although I’m still available on FF for PMs if you’d rather ask via that route.   You’ll find several things that weren’t posted over on FF, things written specifically for this site, etc.  You won’t get lost no matter what you click on, so click away.  Reviews/comments are always appreciated and I generally do reply to them.

2- Nope, I have NOT forgotten about BNP.  I did cave and am re-doing a portion of the final chapter (I couldn’t resist), but it’s still on like donkey kong, so no worries there.  It should be up in a few days (time permitting), and I’m giving serious thought to a certain outtake (no, it’s not that…no, not that either…ok, maaaybe…nope).  Srsly, you guys could have NO idea what the outtake is about.

In fact, since you glorious readers-mine have been so patient, here’s a teaser:

Sookie rolled over and gazed at the fine features of the Viking dayresting by her side.  The dim light coming from the partially open bathroom door cast a soft light on his beloved features.

Even now she couldn’t believe he was there…or that she was “there”, either.

She smiled.

As seemed to be the case with “all things Eric”, once he had come back into her life things had sped forward at an inhuman clip.

He was the embodiment of glorious pandemonium, and she wouldn’t change a thing about him.

Sookie remembered with more clarity than she liked how at one time she would have resented her Viking’s ability to turn her entire world upside-down.

Now, though… Now she knew that his “chaos” was actually far better organized than she’d realized.

He still turned her world upside-down and probably always would, but she didn’t mind – there was thought to his actions, thoughts and planning and a knowledge of the world and the way it worked that he had and she didn’t.

Sometimes she liked his plans and sometimes, in the past at least, she hadn’t, but Eric was smart and his plans no matter how far-fetched always had at least some sort of reasoning behind them.

His muscular shoulders, visible above the bed coverings, were broad enough to handle the problems he so willingly chose to bear, and his hands, although she couldn’t see them as one was under his head and the other was behind her waist, were more than big and strong enough to handle whatever came their way.

She truly couldn’t think of a single thing she would change about him even if she could.

So…yup, that’s the first part of what is a really, really long chapter (yes, there will be the usual breaks for intermission).

Anyway, I hope y’all are having a great week, and you’ll (again, time permitting) hear from me again soon.

Send coffee.

~Mer

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2 new chapters, and a lot of words…

(Scroll down past all the inspirational wordage if you’re just wanting to click on the pretty linky-pics.  I won’t know…so I won’t pout.  Much.)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I’m posting this a bit “early” for several reasons.

One, and honestly the main reason, is to wish all my addictive and discerning readers an extremely awesome, prosperous, healthy, comfortable, cheerful, and peaceful-with-brief-periods-of-desirable-chaos HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

(This VERY early posting is also to give a more timely shout-out to my lovely readers who live “in the future” – I’m lookin’ at you Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Russia…and wow – you guys are gorgeous!  Hey, let the rest of us know how 2016 is going, wouldja?)  😀

Srsly, I hope every one of you wonderful living beings – products of the culmination of unknown eons of biological luck, evolution, survival of the fittest, and pure bloody-mindedness – can look back on 2015 with fondness and then bust 2016 wide fucking open with hope, energy, inspiration, dreams, plans, smart work (srsly, don’t work “hard” – work smart), creativity, genius, ambition, motivation, and all those other “get up off your ass and get shit done” words, but I also hope you have plenty of sleep and play and star gazing and staring at the dreams that live in the clouds.

We all need both.

I hope you and 2016 have a fantastic time together, raise hell and reach heaven, help kittens and puppies and old people and anyone and everyone else who needs a hand up.  You’re strong and powerful and resourceful and ingenious in your own individual ways, so use your powers for the good of all mankind as well as your neighbors and, lastly but not leastl’y, for yourself, too, because dammit, *you’re worth it.

(*Hair dye not included in the preceding motivational-as-fuck speech.)

The second reason is that Decisions, Chapter 34, is finally up.  Godric does some thinkin’, he and Cara do some talkin’, and Cara…Cara is herself.  (You know how she is.)  Enjoy!!  (Sorry for the wait – I tots blame Godric this time around.)

The third reason is, well, weren’t there are a few of you…maybe a couple…at best a tiny handful…who seemed vaguely interested in Part 2 of BNP?  Huh?  Maybe three, four of you?  So yeah, Part 2 of that is up and ready for your reading pleasure.  The tone of this set of wordage isn’t like last time, so do expect the tone to reflect that.  Your support for Part 1 was truly overwhelming and I appreciate every single word.  Thank you, really – you guys make taking writing-style chances seem not quite so scary.  I only hope you like Part 2 as much…

So yeah, this post is a two’fer!

The final reason I”m posting this here and now instead of then and later?

Why not?

😀

(The fact that this is my last post of the year is kind of sad…  I’ll see y’all in the new year, though, hopefully!)

Oh my lands…that trailer…oh, yeah, that trailer… AND A GIF!!

The Tarzan trailer…  I’m fearin’ there’ll be no recovering my poor brain from this gutter-trip, and that’s fine by me…

And this that I saw in Gyllene‘s FB group and had to promptly steal for mine (and y’all!):

And then here’s this gif our amazing 4Padfoot made for me – it’s perfect!!

My poor brain?  GONE SPLODY.

GONE.

SPLODY.

And we all know our amazing gif and banner makers are going to be having a field day with this trailer creating all the fantastic things they do!

I’m going to go stare off into space for a while…ignore any drool and/or whimpering…

It’s a 2-fer…~ish: The Moon, Ch. 22 + a tiny non-fic piece

Ok, I’ll be honest – I started to not post this today since it’s Saturday and I know that most of my readers are busy on the weekends and may not have time to sit down and read, but then I decided that I wasn’t in a withholding mood.  I hope you DO have time to plop your butt in a comfy place and escape for a bit.

The first item is Chapter 22 of The Moon (I kind of think you’ll like this chappie!).  The second is a little non-fic piece you might like – read it if you want, and if you do I hope you enjoy it.

This piece is a, well, it’s a something…a short something:

Death Now Has A Dog…But Still No Head

Enjoy?  Your thoughts, as always, are welcome.
